John DavidSOWERBYPassed away suddenly at his home 2 Penlan Uchaf, Penrhyndeudraeth, aged 71 years.
Father of Michael and Katherine; father-in-law of Cat; Grandfather of Leo and Ethan; Doggy Dad to Blodwen.
Formerly a teacher, John had a passion for railways, and a special connection to the Ffestiniog Railway in particular. He was an active volunteer across numerous railways through his lifetime and engaged in the 16mm modelling community. Later in life John enjoyed his retirement in North Wales, spending time with his beloved Basset Hounds, often found walking in Tan-y-Bwlch, Borth-y-Gest, or visiting the steam railways together.
A public service will take place at Bangor Crematorium on Friday 31st of October at 2.30pm. This will be followed by a public celebration of life gathering at Tan y Bwlch Station on Saturday 1st of November from 12pm.
Donations in memory are gratefully accepted towards Ffestiniog Railway Society and Basset Hound Rescue through the Funeral directors
