Paul, I was so shocked to hear of your passing. You were an incredible surgeon, a true gentleman and a truly wonderful colleague always professional but with a wicked sense of humour. It was an absolute pleasure to have worked with you I shall forever remember being called Maam by you. Thank you for your skill, compassion and support when you became my surgeon I couldn't have got through it without you.
RIP Paul ....heaven is a much better place by having you in it

I have only learnt of this sad news in the last couple of days, and it saddens me immensely. Mr Stanley was the man that saved my life and made a huge decision and took a risk on surgery on me which gave me an incredible life which I would not have been able to have without his input. I thank you from the bottom of my heart and seriously will never ever forget what you did. God Bless you sir , Mark Connor x

I send my condolences to Pauls family. I only met Paul a few times, and spent time with him fishing for Salmon. He had a generous nature and was keen to pass on his fishing knowledge and to lend his tackle. I enjoyed my time with him and will always remember his good nature, quite intelligence and wit. I was looking forward to enjoying his company on future trips. He will be missed.

Mr Stanley, you were a fantastic surgeon and trainer like no other. You kept us entertained with your wit and anecdotes. Thank you for teaching me everything you know especially anatomy, I don’t think I’ll ever forget the brachial plexus again. It was an honour to be one of your trainees. - Shenbana B
