Worked alongside Morris for over 30 years. We never worked in the same section but our paths crossed regularly. When working with him, he was always the consummate professional - helping the job along. Out of work, I will always remember the badminton and the hillwalking - ever the expert (and never too shy to gently explain). Thank God I never played tennis with him 🤭.
Well done, Morris. I’ll see you further on.

I've known Morris for over 40 years both through work and socially. Since we retired we've met up for weekly walks around Scotland. He will be missed on those Mondays. RIP Morris

Morris was such a kind, hard working and dedicated man who has coached many generations of children within the community. He coached me when I was young when we trained at the sports centre in Drongan and competed at the Dam Park Stadium in Ayr. Most recently he coached my son Jack who loved his tennis sessions at Coylton. Mr Thompson/Sir was always well respected and gave up so much of his own time to teach the youth of today. He will be missed by many. RIP Mr Thompson ❤
