Music brought us together
Added by Bob
Music brought us together. We were so close in the seventies. Steve travelled with us when my band went to Hamburg. He fitted in so well with the other guys. They all liked him a lot. We later played acoustic guitar together, two beautiful Yamaha FG 580, writing our own material. I should have left the vocals to him. A great talent, could have achieved anything he wanted, but Steve was never one to take life so seriously. We also shared a similar sense of humour - it was Steve who introduced me to the surreal world of Monty Python and Bonzo Dog. We recorded the Goons from the radio and knew all of the best lines off by heart which we dropped into conversation at any opportunity. It was such a formative period for me, shaped in so many ways by great mate Steve. So much more than a pal.

Still coming to terms with the news, I'm gutted! I've known you for almost 40 years and while not in touch for a while, I still have lots of great memories. The nights out, the pub quiz's, the trips to the Lakes, especially waking up one morning surrounded by a herd of sheep.!Taken far too soon, I'm privileged to have known you as a friend for so long. Thoughts with Audrey, your Family and Friends. RIP mate.

RIP old friend. Although I haven’t seen you for a number of years, the memories we shared from our monthly EP6A gatherings, music gigs and the brilliant fell walking experiences will leave an on going smile on my face whenever I think of you. Can just see you playing the old guitar up there on your little cloud.
