To add to John’s obituary I would also like to say he was father to talented glass designer and dear brother Simon who had previously passed away in 2002. He was a hugely supportive father for Simon and all of us. Jeremy

I was very sorry to hear about John’s passing back in March 2021. He was a friend of my mother going back to the days of their youth and they were again reunited in 2011 when my mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. At that time he made a special trip to Leeds. It was lovely to meet John and share some photos and their memories of the past.
Although my mother passed away in June 2012, John kept in touch and also became very good friends with my mum’s cousin. I’m sure he will be sadly missed by family and friends and I am sad that I never managed to visit him in Cheshire. Fortunately I was able to talk with him on the telephone back in January.
R.I.P John.
