Pat (Rees)WILLANS11-Mar-1935 to 16-Jan-2021. Pat Willans (Patricia Saunders), oldest daughter of the late Lundie and Mary Rees of Huish Episcopi, passed peacefully on the 16th January, aged 85. Born in Caterham, Surrey, Pat was the oldest of 5 children and later had 5 children herself. Pat lived in Kent for many years and was a very talented musician; playing guitar, piano, church organ and dulcimer and taught piano and guitar to many pupils. Pat continued to play and teach piano, guitar and keyboard throughout her life. Pat also lived in Somerset and the North East, before returning to Kent in her final years. In the 60's and 70's, Pat ran the Compasses Folk Club in Tunbridge Wells, promoted many well known folk singers and groups, composed folk songs herself, published a folk guitar tutorial which sold over 21,000 copies, sang on TV and radio, did a stint as a hospital radio DJ and sang a solo in Tyne and Wear Metro the Musical. Dearly loved and greatly missed, Pat leaves behind 5 children, 8 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and another on the way. Pat's funeral will take place on the 5th March at Medway Crematorium in Kent. Family flowers only please.
