KennethYORK ('Ken')'Ken' It is with great sadness we announce that following a short illness, Ken died at home on 9th April 2020 at the grand age of 100 years and 2 months. He lived a full and happy life, including 23 years in the Royal Marines which had a huge influence on his life. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who was the embodiment of the Commando spirit. He dedicated himself to his community, leading a number of local organisations for many years. He will be greatly missed by his wife Dorothy, the rest of his family and many in Bottisham and the surrounding area. In line with current restrictions, his burial in Bottisham Churchyard will be for close family only. A celebration of his life will be announced at a later date. Donations if desired will be shared between the British Heart Foundation and Lode Church and can be sent via the Funeral Director. Ken was always there for other folk in many capacities .He had a vast knowledge of many things gardening etc but he had a wonderful sense of fun and his cup was always half full even when he was sick .His s Lawn was something to be proud of especially during his last few years and he still tended it with such care as he did to all the many things he was involved in .
He was a good man.
Hilda and George Buchanan

It was a privilege to know Ken whose support for many organisations in Bottisham was well known. In particular for me was his involvement in production and distribution of our village magazine 'The Cresset' and also his support for the local branch of The Royal British Legion and his organisation of the Armistice day parade each year. He is sadly missed.
Peter Walker, Editor of The Cresset and secretary of the Bottisham Branch of TRBL.
