Pamela Bayes was a wonderful friend for many years to many people. And although she is no longer with us in body, her spirit lives on in a myriad of ways. She lives on in the children (who are now adults) whom she taught the magic of stories with the help of Winnie the Pooh and his friends. She lives on through her efforts to teach all of us about recycling and resource recovery long before it was fashionable and we knew it was environmentally expedient. She lives on in the women whose lives she touched and businesses she helped them create through the Grand Rapids Organization for Women. She lives on in her social activism and in her support of music and the arts. Pamela’s consistently living what she believed serves as a model of a life not only well-lived, but as an example of how to make a difference in the world by doing so. Pamela, we miss you.
