Condolences to Beachie's family, my father was Arbigland estate manager for 9 years, 1940s, 50s. He taught Beachie to ride and shoot. He had a Welsh pony, Faraway who had a nasty little filly foal called Merrylegs. We had to be careful around her. We spent most of the holidays together and sort of lost touch other than dinner once in London. Last time we spoke I rang to say my dear father had died suddenly in 1983. Diana Donald nee Willett.

This message is primarily for Edward.

Ed - I read with sadness of your father's passing, a wonderful character who brightened the lives of many who met him at Leadenhall Market. Do get in touch. It would be lovely to meet.

Love and best wishes, Richard Elias
