Alan (FRCS, FRCOG)GILLESPIEFRCS, FRCOG on Saturday, 7 September 2019, Alan, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away at Frimley Park Hospital, aged 91. Alan was born on 25th May 1928. He graduated with a 1st Class Hons MB BS Degree from the University College Hospital, then became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. He worked as a consultant at Frimley Park Hospital until his retirement. Throughout his life, Alan had a passion for gardening (sweet peas were amongst his favourite!) He was a keen fan of Aldershot Town F.C. and Farnborough F.C. and served as club doctor for both teams. He travelled the seas on many cruises around the world. He had a love of his family, friends and dancing. He is survived by his wife Mavis, his previous wife Gillian, and his older brother Ronald. He was a devoted father to his five children, Nicholas, Timothy, Fiona, Juliette, and James, and a loving grandfather. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and several cousins. Service on Friday, 11th October at Aldershot Crematorium at 1:30pm, followed by a celebration of his life at The Aviator in Farnborough. Donations are preferred to flowers and can be made out to either the 'Heart Foundation' at Frimley Park Hospital or Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice Care and sent to E Finch and Sons, 123 High Street, Hampshire, GU11 1TT. All Welcome.
