Mary RitaBARBER4th February 1923 - 19th January 2020 Rita passed away peacefully at home early on Sunday morning, with her family by her side. She was loved deeply and leaves Antony, her devoted husband of nearly sixty-three years, her four children - Anne, Matthew, Dominic and Marion and their families in Canada, Bristol, New York and Cambridge. Rita delighted in being a grandmother to twelve. Rita was born in Sierra Madre, California and met and married Tony while they were studying at Columbia University, New York. They travelled back to the UK to begin their family. Rita had a long and happy career as a reference librarian at the Truro Public Library. A Requiem Mass will be held at Our Lady of the Portal and St Piran Catholic Church, Truro at 10am on Friday January 24, where Rita directed the choir for many years. We will celebrate her rich and spirited life - as she would always say, "Toujours gai".

My condolences to Anne, and the family on the passing of your mother. It is very hard to loose a parent. Although I never met her she looks like she was beautiful lady, like Anne! I am sure that the Requiem Mass in her church was a wonderful way to to mark her passing. Now there are lots of things to deal with and I wish you the best during this time. Julie
