Charles was a true friend, right up to the end. We performed music together in the late 1960s and early 1970s. He was the finest musician I ever played with and was comfortable with all styles from ballads to the blues. Irene and I share great memories of Charles, especially in the early 1970s. Our thoughts are with his family at this time. Mitch.

I had the privilege of sharing a stage with Charles a few times in the late 1960s. He had a great singing voice and played a mean blues harmonica. I am glad I met up with him last year after a gap of 48 years.
