Rest in Peace David. I knew David from Plymouth, Devon. We both, together with Joan Newton , pianist appeared in the second Opportunity Concert, arranged by the City if Plymouth Public Libraries and Museums Committee at the Scott Lecture Theatre in 1956. My married name is Irene Withycombe ( I was known by my maiden and stage name Irene Heslop) I was trained as a coloratura soprano and at the time of the concert was quite well known in an around Plymouth. I was a committee member of the Plymouth Music Festival, guest artiste with the Clarion Male Voice Choir and performed in oratorios, concerts and musicals in the West of England. David was an elocutionist of immense expression. I remember his beautifully articulated pieces which included excerpts from Dylan Thomas, Shakespeare Sonnets and in all these David showed a sense of style which I recall with great pleasure.
I now live in New Zealand after years in Zambia where I was announcer on TVZ and Cape Town South Africa. I was saddened to
read of David's passing and felt I should pay tribute to him. A person of heart, art and culture. my sincere condolences to family.

David I am sure was a Churchill Fellow in the UK before moving to Western Australia. I kept in contact via email for many years and seem to recall he lived near a lake where he spent many a happy hour. Sadly we lost contact but I send my condolences to all the family.
