I worked for Captain Jones at TOM for a year. He would always tell me what his priorities were. First was always wages for his employees. He cared very much for the people who worked for him. He had a vision for the future and that is pretty hard in a constantly changing and challenging environment that is West Africa. But he made things work. He was proud of his boats and crews. Always did everything he could for them. The fine Crews were loyal to him and many had worked for him for well over twenty years. If you include the families of these men he helped to feed hundreds.

Mrs. Jones always was near to look after him. He was very proud of his Son in Australia.

I learned a lot from Captain Monty. The man was a prince among men and well be surely missed by those that knew him well and he mentored.

He was kind to me and a good Catholic.

God Bless His Soul.

To Monty's family sorry to hear about Monty, we didn't know when the funeral was and would have attended to pay our respects. Monty's boat was tied ahead of our boat, and we spent many happy times talking to Monty. Will, Ben and George.
