Another DNUK contributor here who always enjoyed reading his contribution. I never met or worked with him, but the way he wrote always came across in a quiet, confident and reassuring way that made me think I would be happy for him to be looking after someone I cared for.

As many here only knew him through his postings on doctors net, nevertheless I learned a great deal from him and held him in high respect.
RIP David. You are already missed.

Was a well-respected contributor of doctors.net and brought great experience, knowledge and wisdom not just to medicine, but to many other topics too. Will be missed online.

I didn’t know David in real life, but on and off over twenty years valued his postings and wisdom in the doctors net forum.
He was a real gentleman and we online will truly miss his presence, I’m so sorry for your loss which is of course far, far greater than ours.
With best wishes, Georgia from Doctors Net

I never met David but followed his postings on doctors.net with great interest. He was clearly a man of great experience and wisdom and I have learned much from him. My deepest condolences to his friends and family.

I knew him on doctors net. We often disagreed but always in a courteous way and I valued his opinion. We also seem to have many of the same interests, he was always worth reading. My sympathies for your loss, and ours too.

David will be missed by so many - including those like me who never met him but were touched by his words, advice, common sense and down to earthiness. He was the opposite of all that is said negatively about online interactions - and as Clive James wrote, he was "more kind" in all the discussions he had with the online doctors.net community. Thoughts with all his family and friends at this time.

David was a wonderful colleague who I knew online for many years but never had the pleasure of meeting. He was very knowledgeable about all aspects of medicine and everything from DIY to pensions.

His spelling online was rubbish. His classic sign off was: kind regards.

He will be sorely missed by the doctors.net community where he helped many many colleagues over the years.

Very sorry for your loss. David was a great contributor to doctors.net and even if we didn't always see eye to eye he was never other than courteous and always had a talent for a few wise words. Will be sadly missed.
