Covid-19 The Welsh Government have published guidance to funeral directors and families arranging funerals and who can attend.
Funeral Attendance Guidance
Announcing the passing Traditionally people have always announced the passing of a loved one and published funeral information.
Due to the restrictions in place during the COVID pandemic, families are still finding great comfort in announcing the passing of their loved one to let family, distant relatives, friends, neighbours, colleagues know their loved one has passed.
It’s important that we share the Welsh Government's guidelines with you to keep you informed of the restrictions in place when considering attending a funeral.
The government states that those organising funerals must expressly invite those they wish to attend (though this does not require any formality such as sending an invitation in writing).
In view of the risk of people attending uninvited (as of course is the normal practice), those organising should also be encouraged to limit information about the location of the funeral in death notices and make clear that attendance at the funeral is by invitation only.
Restrictions are strictly a maximum of 30 people, however this may vary and be lower at some venues to ensure they follow the safe distance guidance.
For more information the funeral director can advise, however you may find this it.
