Funeral service to be held at St Laurence's Church Old Church Road, on Tuesday 24th September at 10.30am, followed by burial at Windmill Road Cemetery. Derek was a lovely humble man who I met as a 15yr old in 1982..Derek's mum and dad knew I was an amateur boxer and introduced him to me..I looked up to him and still have a photo he gave me when he was in his prime..Derek was a special man but a legend in the boxing world after winning his bout vs the USA the only time GB ever won 10-0..Derek's boxing career was a war in every sense..God bless mate Paul Harrison xx
