Clive James was a lovely person to listen to or watch on TV . I loved his voice . So sorry he has passed on . Prayers for the family.

I always thought that poetry was my favourite form until I read Clive James’ incomparable prose. I even read his TV Review column in the Weekend Telegraph about programmes I never watched, and from the time I heard he was ill, I have dreaded seeing his Obituary Notice.

I grew up with Clive James on TV. It was an unmissable show for me. He was a brilliant entertainer. He also fronted a show in the very early days of the Internet where he stated that the Internet was the future. I took that on board and based my career around it. I'm forever grateful that he had that insight and shared it because I would never be where I am now without his wise words.

Fond memories of my mum chuckling to Clive when I was young. A funny man whose social commentary was usually bang on!

Truly a remarkable man, I grew up listening, watching and reading his work, sadly missed, but his work does live on, everyone should try to read some.
