Gerard was my cousin - kind, funny and full of life. We never saw enough of each other but when we did meet he always left a great impression. Mary and Gerard's visit to us in Belgium with our Uncle Henry was great fun - so glad that happened. I know that we will miss him a lot..

Lovely memories of Gerard from being at school with him at St Mary’s and parting company in 1972. Don’t think I saw him since but whenever my memories of St Mary’s came into mind, he was always lodged in there as a thoroughly decent and principled person and with a good sense of humour and fun. It is fitting to see how well thought of he was and how he has positively influenced so many lives.
To Gerard’s family and friends I am so sorry for your loss and I pray that the good Lord will give you strength to deal with Gerard's loss.
It was a pleasure to have known him, I always thought I would bump into him again, sadly not to be. I know he would have given me a good welcome.
RIP Gerard
I have seen a few references to the Nativity play of 1971, when Gerard was one of the 3 kings. I was one of the wise men (there’s a laugh for anyone who remembers me). I had to learn the poem the “Road not/less travelled”.
After 51 years I still can’t get the darned poem out of my head.
I still recite when I am walking with friends as it seems appropriate. Anyone for a walk?
