ColinSEXSTONEBeloved Father, husband, brother, grandfather & uncle died peacefully at home 24th February. A loyal Bristolian, who cherished his city as much as his family. Born in Bedminster in 1948 and after the loss on his father in 1956 joined Collegiate school, thereafter, followed a prominent military career rising to the rank of Group Captain. On retiring from the RAF he joined GCCC as Chief Executive. During his five year tenure, Gloucestershire went onto win 5 trophies, as well as the one day, Norwich Union National League in 2000. Colin joined Bristol City as Chief Executive in 2001, helping to lead the club's stadium development and reaching 2 Championship playoff finals. He briefly replaced Steve Lansdown as chairman of the club on 1 June 2011 before stepping down in May 2012. He thereafter accepted a role as a Non-executive Director at League Two club Plymouth Argyle, and finally in 2015 as a director of fellow league 2 club Bristol Rovers However, the legacy of which he was most proud was his family, he loved nothing more than watching his 8 grandchildren in their various sporting endeavours Colin leaves his wife Jane, 3 children, 8 grandchildren and 1 sister. The funeral will be held on March 16th, 2pm in Westbury-on-trym Holy Trinity Church, followed by RAFA club from 3pm.
