So sad to hear this news. Me and Chris (or Ginge) as we all knew him, were big mates from the age of about 8. We played football all day long, went to Argyle and sang in the choir at St. Francis for many years. We were both head choristers for a couple of years. I then joined the RAF. He came to my wedding in Watford in 1973.
We then gradually and regretfully lost touch mainly as I was travelling a lot.
He was my best mate. We used to travel to school together, him to Public, me to Sutton. We were forever playing our records together. Such happy memories. My condolences to all of his family.
RIP Ginger Bennett.
