John was a lovely man and very kind to me for which I am grateful. I am pleased I got to meet him several times in the last few years and particularly at Sarah’s wedding. It is such a sad time and I am sending much love to all. John will never be gone as he lives on in the hearts of all who knew him. Brian had some great talks with John over the cricket too. Thinking of you all.

Not a day will go by when I don't think about my Grandad. Seeing him always cheered me up and he was always interested in what I had been doing since the last time he had seen me. I was fortunate to have such an incredible man who I could call my Grandfather. Even though I wish you were here, I know that you are now at peace. I love you Grandad
