I was sad to hear of Fred's passing - for the gap he will leave in many people's lives. But comforted to know He is with the Saviour he loves and served with his life. Unfortunately I cannot make the thanksgiving service. But I am thankful for the love, encouragement & friendship I knew from him in my 10 years of knowing him at Woodlands Evangelical Church. Fred was the clever one of our gang who lived in Jacob Street Liverpool. He won scholarship to Liverpool institute and was nicknamed twinkletoes... not that he was brilliant at football...let's say he'd never get a game for lfc(Liverpool football club)we all attended David Street Sunday school and were greatly encouraged to study the bible through a Mr Morris who marked our " bsyp" Bible searching for young people answers to the questions on every chapter of Bible... prizes a new testament for nt completed and a Bible for answers to all chapters of Bible..authorised version of course.fred of course won a Bible. While in his teens he preached to the Saturday evening meetings for young held at Gordon Hall near his old school . When he went to live in Derbyshire from oaklea chapel irby wirral where he was a trustee and elder. he and his family were greatly loved and greatly missed. Now with the Lord he loved and served faithfully . The Lord will only give us what we take and fred by faith and grace became a blessing to many
