John FrancisAPPLEBYPassed away at home on 7th August 2020, with his closest family by his side, aged 71 years. Beloved husband of Janine, a much loved dad and granddad and a great friend to so many. John was a teacher at Paulet High School for 37 years and was involved in Burton and District Schools' Football, Burton Albion FC and Staffordshire Schools' Football for almost 50 years. Previously a council member and chairman of English Schools' Football Association. "Mr Staffordshire" will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Sincere thanks go to all of the community nurses based at Repton Health Centre and the out-of-hours Derbyshire community nurses for their wonderful care and kindness. A private burial will be held at Repton Cemetery on Thursday 20th August. If you wish to line the streets to pay your respects to John please visit www.murraysfunerals.co.uk (click on 'Obituaries.) A big celebration of John's life will be held at a future date. Mr Appleby was my p.e teacher in the early 70s ,he was probably the most well respected teacher at hillside school, his pupils loved him for his fairness. He will be so sadly missed. Rest in peace
