David, never Dave, was someone I knew longer than anyone else since the age of four, inseparable until one hour of starting infant school when we mixed the sand pit with the water pit. Generous to a fault and the only person who has ever made me laugh uncontrollably time and again. Forever up to mischief together I have memories of cycling through the sea to St Mary's Island with David by my side. Even now over 60 years later, I smile when I think of the things he did, egged on by me!

Many memories of David Bainbridge as a classmate at Monkseaton Grammar School and in later life as an active member of the Round Table.
