DoreenBANNISTERDoreen Bannister nee Steel (Gateshead) died unexpectedly after a short stay in hospital on 29 October 2022, aged 85 years. A dearly loved wife of the late Terry Fenwick Bannister. Much loved mother of Ian, Brian and Helen. Cherished mother in law of Jan, Wendy and Grahame. A much loved Grandma of Danial, Katie, Sophie, Emma, Libby and their partners. Step grandchildren Grahame, Jodi and their families. An amazing Great Grandma to Leo and Lily. Doreen will be sadly missed by all her family and friends but especially Sheila. Funeral service and cremation to be held at Birtley Crematorium on Friday 11 November at 14:30. All welcome afterwards at the Thomas Wilson Club, Low Fell. Family flowers only please, donations if desired in lieu of flowers for which a box will be available at the crematorium.

Very saddened to hear that Doreen has left us. Have fond memories as a child when Doreen was a dinner nanny at St Cuthberts (now St Aidans) junior school Gateshead . Doreen was also a very special and dear life long friend to my mam. Doreen was never without a smile or a laugh and was such a lovely , warm and very kind person . Wonderful lady who’ll be sadly missed . Take care to all of her remaining family ❤️
