Val worked at my dad’s shop Forester’s in North Broomhill in the early 1970s. I was only a child but remember her to this day as being extremely kind and she even looked after me when my mum wasn’t about. Terry was a budding young executive and drove a mini which I loved being in. Love and condolences to all the family.

I met Val through my friendship with her late husband Terry, after he passed away I kept in tough with Val and we became firm friends, when I lived local we saw each other regularly and we regularly put the world to rights, I enjoyed our walks and trips out. When I moved we became phone friends and we spoke every fortnight, talking about all sorts, but mostly having a good laugh and that was my last contact a phone call full of laughter. Val I will miss you, say hello to Terry and as you always signed off Ta'ra x
