Giuseppina (Pina)DI CARAGiuseppina was reunited with her beloved late husband, Victor Di Cara, on 13th July aged 87 after living her sunset years independently and happily with her characteristic cheerfulness. Born in Sant'Elia Fiumerapido, Italy in 1936, Giuseppina moved to England in 1954 and worked her way up to becoming a professional silkscreen printer. In 1971, she and Victor acquired a local village restaurant, renaming it and creating Il Forno Restaurant and building it into a regional destination for Italian cooking. Giuseppina was the chef behind a menu that delighted thousands of customers over the course of 16 years. She never missed a day sick. Throughout her career, Giuseppina raised five children, David, Stephen, Dominic, Linda and Nino, and was Nonna to six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Giuseppina overcame great adversity throughout her life. She took well-deserved pride in achieving an Outstanding Adult Learners Award as she made up for the education she had not received as a child, ultimately writing her autobiography. Giuseppina had a generous, loving and playful nature, always keeping positive and providing cheer to those around her. She was the cornerstone of the family and will be deeply missed. A funeral service will be held at St Thomas of Canterbury RC Church, Sevenoaks on Thursday 10th August at 12pm. Family flowers only.
