JohnGAUGHANJohn Gaughan, of Western Court, Stacksteads, passed away at the Royal Blackburn Hospital on October 20, aged 82 years.

John started in the shoe trade at Kilholme Mill and then went to Ross Shoe, Helmshore and then later to Newmans at Blackburn prior to retirement. John enjoyed walking, gardening, growing his own vegetables, crown green bowling, caravanning and he was also avid book reader. John was the former chairman of Rossendale Mencap, he was also a member - Parishioner St James the Less RC Church.

John leaves his wife Anne, daughter Clare, son-in-law Mark, nieces and nephews and many friends.
A Requiem Mass will be held at St James the Less RC Church on Thursday, November 2 at 12.15pm, conducted by Father Simon Stamp, followed by a cremation at Burnley at 1.45pm.
