Just so so sad to learn of the passing of Ron. I worked at Hull KR starting as a YTS - a dream job at 16 for a rovers supporter . Initially Ron might have scared you - his presence was immense - but under that authoritarian persona lie an absolutely lovely person - I had and continued to have such respect for him - even when he ’wasnt happy’ when the players took us staff ’out’ on a Friday lunch and he hadn’t a clue when we’d be brought back to ’man’ the offices . I met him and Yvonne many times in Beverley years later after leaving Rovers - even having coffee with them both at the Salvation Army in Beverley with my late mum. I am so so sad that I have only found out of his passing today and so wasn’t able to attend at Haltemprice Crematorium on Tuesday . RIP Ron many memories I will always hold .
