So sad to hear that Prof Ray has passed away... He was my professor during 2002 2003 academic year at the MSc in marketing. All the Greek students liked him for his personality, his kindness. Feeling lucky for meeting such a person. RIP teacher

I was a student of Prof. Ray Kent in the first cohort of the MSc in Marketing in 1993-94 at the University of Stirling. I was very intimidated by the concept of marketing research and even more intimated by the fact that my instructor had written a book on it titled 'Marketing Research in Action'. I was mesmerized by this professor and eventually ... well!! I failed the class. He was awesome and agreed that I take extra assignments so to pass. Just a short message of gratitude and inspiration to Prof. Ray Kent. I guess this was meant to be as I later completed a PhD in marketing to become an internationally acclaimed professor and researcher in marketing, and even writting books myself. It is awesome what one man can do for another! Thank you Prof. Ray Kent.

So sad to find out today that my old friend and academic colleague, Ray Kent, has passed. We designed and co-delivered the first business and management foundation year modules at Stirling University back in the late 70’s. Ray was a quiet, very gentle man whose Marketing subject knowledge was second to none. I loved working with Ray and will miss his generous spirit. My condolences to Diana and family. Mike Donnelly
