With great sadness, we announce the passing of our much-loved Dad, Grandad and Great-Grandad, David Laine, known to many in the wrestling world as Count Christian Loepold, “The Flying Frenchman” and “Dr Death.”
David was larger than life, both in and out of the wrestling ring. A talented and charismatic wrestler, he entertained countless people with his skill, strength and unforgettable presence. But beyond the wrestling world, he was a loving family man whose greatest pride and joy was his family.
He was a cherished Dad to Teresa and Kristian, a much-loved Grandad to Natalie, Lauren, David, Alex and Bethany, and a treasured Great-Grandad to Rory, Clay, Ezra, Callie and Ella.
Brother to Maurice and Phyllis.
His family meant everything to him. He gave them his love, his time, his stories and, of course, his wonderful sense of humour. His laughter and the joy he brought into their lives will be remembered and treasured forever.
David was truly one of a kind. His warmth, character and larger-than-life personality touched everyone who knew him. While many will remember the wrestler and the remarkable character he portrayed, his family will remember the loving Dad, Grandad and Great-Grandad behind it all.
We will miss his humour, his love, his laughter and simply having him there.
He leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a legacy of love that will live on through his family and future generations.
Forever loved.
Forever cherished.
Forever missed.
Rest peacefully, Dad.
You will always be in our hearts and in our souls ♥️
