Michael Edwin MikeJONESJONES Michael Edwin (Mike).
A much loved dad to Laura and Luke and brother, John passed away peacefully at home after a long illness on May 11th 2008 aged 64.
His children and family were all so proud of his musical success as a former member of "The Settlers" folk group.
The funeral service will be held at 2.45pm on May 27th at Exeter Crematorium.
There will be a celebration of his life to follow at "The Huntsman" (Ide) and therefore his children kindly ask that people attending wear colourful clothes on the day.
Family flowers only (bouquets no wreaths). Donations if desired for Cancer Laryngectomee Trust to be sent to A. White & Sons, Albert Road, Crediton EX17 2BZ.

I only just learned about Mike's passing having been out of contact for years.


It was thanks to Mike asking me to join the Settlers in 1975 that I made most of my subsequent contacts in the music publishing world and through that was able to forge a successful career in songwriting and record production.


We had a lot of laughs during my years with The Settlers and I'll always treasure those memories.

I've been away from the music business for some time and have only, belatedly returned, and have just learned of Mike's passing.


I know it's rather late to offer my condolences, but never the less I would still like to do so - my sincere sympathies go out to all his family.


Back in 1976 I was a member of The Settlers, an experience I will never forget, and have a lot to thank Mike for.
