John PeterLACEYIt is with sadness, pride and much love, that we announce the death of our beloved Daddy, John Peter Lacey aged 92 years.
Born in Dublin, the Republic of Ireland, spending time in Canada, then moving to Wigston, Leicester and latterly of South Lodge Care Home, London Road, Leicester. He lived a long, purposeful and meaningful life.
We are eternally grateful to have been blessed with the best daddy in the world. He cherished his three daughters (his 'three jewels'), Carol, Paula and Denise, along with his grandchildren, Sarah, Sean, Matthew, Siobhan, Catherine, Sinead and Louisa. Also, his great-grandchildren Evie, Olivia, Cienna, Conor, Linayon, Erin, Lynanze and Rowan-James.
We would like to extend a sincere thank you to all who cared for and supported our lovely dad during his later years; a time during which his health was challenged, but his soul, love for his family and friends and positivity were never dimmed.
All are welcome as we gather to celebrate dad's life, for a moment or all day - you are welcome. Funeral service - 11:00am on Thursday 3rd September Holy Cross Church & Priory, 45 Wellington Street, Leicester, LE1 6HW. Followed by a short service at Great Glen Crematorium, 9 London Road, Great Glen, Leicester, LE8 9DJ.
Wake / Celebration of life - The Holiday Inn, Wigston Stage, 299 Leicester Road, Leicester, LE18 1JW from 3pm onwards. Dad requested people to dress in bright colours rather than black. We would love to see you all, Carol, Paula & Denise (John's three jewels).
No flowers please. If preferred, donations to fund further research to Alzheimer's Research UK.
