AlanTHOMPSONAlan Thompson passed away peacefully on 14th May 2026 at The Florence Nightingale Macmillan Unit, surrounded by his loving children.
A devoted family man, Alan dedicated his life to caring for and providing for those he loved. He was a loving husband to the love of his life, his late wife Cheryl, and a cherished father to Michelle, Melanie and Nathan. He was also a proud and much-loved grandfather to Jess, Ben and Thomas, who will remember him with great affection. Alan shared a special bond with his sister-in-law Gill, who was not only a wonderful sister-in-law but also a pillar of strength and support to both Alan and Cheryl, especially during Cheryl's illness and passing. Alan will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A service will take place on Friday 12th June 2026 at Markeaton Crematorium, Round Chapel at 13:00. A wake will immediately follow at The Greyhound, Ashbourne Road, Derby.
Family flowers only, however, if desired, donations in lieu can be given in memory of Alan to East Midlands Asbestos Support Team, Chesterfield.
