EileenCAHILL(née Nolan) It is with great sadness we announce that Eileen passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on 14th August 2024 at University Hospital, Coventry, aged 92 years.

She was a beloved and devoted wife of the late Jim, precious mum of Mary and Angela, mother-in-law of Clive and Reto, adored grandma of Luke, Siân and Mike, Luca and Leah. Eileen was a dear sister, sister-in-law, auntie and wonderful friend to many. She was a much loved and respected nursing sister on the Special Care Baby Unit at Walsgrave Hospital.

Her memory will be cherished for her great sense of humour and the love, care and compassion she devoted to all those around her. She will be sadly missed but forever in our hearts. Rest in Peace.

Funeral Mass to be held at St. John Fisher RC Church, Tiverton Road, Wyken, Coventry on Tuesday 17th September at 11.00am, followed by interment at Canley Garden Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations if desired for the Alzheimer's Society to

Eileen was a wonderful friend to our family, especially to our mother, Norah Scanlon. They were neighbours, fellow Irishwomen and parishioners of St John Fisher church. Eileen was always there when Mum needed her help and she was tireless in her support. She could listen for ages, lighten the load and leave with calmness all around. All through our lives in births and deaths Eileen was there around the corner and she could hold a newborn and get a smile from them like no one else. Eileen and Norah had great fun together and I can hear their laughter now. Jim was always there and they are together now, resting in peace.

Mary and Angela
I was so sad to hear of your dear mum’s passing
I was lucky enough to have worked under her as a student on the special care baby unit for many years
Your mum was a complete legend, so knowledgable and so calm even in a crisis
She had a wicked sense of humour and her jokes had us in stitches !!
I used to love it when your mum and Mary Newsome were on shift together
Your mum was such a kind and caring lady - so lovely to the babies and the parents and to all the staff
I’m so sorry I can’t be there at the funeral but sending love to you and all the family
Kindest regards
