I first met you 58 years ago as Patrick and Rachel’s Mum when we were at Byron Street Primary School and then when you were Mrs Birch my Latin and Ancient History teacher which became my lifelong favourite subjects and you were the very best teacher I ever had. I feel blessed to have had such an inspirational teacher and that we stayed in touch and I was lucky enough to tell you in my letters and in recent years when you, Patrick and I enjoyed time together and I told you how much you mean to me. I loved you Mrs Birch and you will always be in my heart and thoughts xxx Sending love and prayers to Patrick and all the family xxx Rest in peace. Thank you ❤️

I first met Margaret at school where she was the teacher that inspired my studies, particularly in Ancient History and Literature which I very much enjoyed.

I was fortunate to be able to keep in touch with her after schooldays through St Edward’s Church and she was very kind to me and my husband Brian when he had an accident during Covid.

Brian and I also enjoyed catching up with her at the football and were very pleased to be invited to her 90th Birthday party.

Margaret made a very significant contribution to the community and we feel very fortunate to have known her.

She was an inspiration to us all by the way she lived her life to the full, but always thinking of others, spreading joy and love.

Margaret was very special to me. Was there for me and helped me in tough times. Was a ray of sunshine to everyone who knew her. It was a honor and pleasure to assist in looking after her when asked. Will miss her. I can remember helping her on the alotment and having lovely chats with her. The family gatherings with the children all hold dear memories.
