JoanSMITH(nee Margaret Simpson) of Bretby Joan passed away peacefully at home, in the company of her closest family, on January 31st 2021, aged 85 years. Beloved mother of Andrew and Jane, wife of the late Gerald and cherished companion of Malcolm. Joan was also a dedicated grandmother to Christopher and Daniel and great grandmother to Florence and Amelia. Always caring for others, she touched many lives with her wisdom, commitment and sense of fun. Joan served as a church warden at Bretby, was an active member of both Burton and Branston golf clubs and keen member of the Leaside Singers. She will be keenly missed by her family and wide circle of friends. Due to current restrictions, a private service will be held on Tuesday 23rd February, 2:30pm at St Wystan's Church, Bretby, followed by interment in the Churchyard. Family flowers only please.
