I’m very sad to hear of Mary’s passing. She was without doubt the best manager I have ever worked with. There were no secrets, no hidden agendas, just logic about why we were in the company and what we needed to do to ensure its success. The team grew from seven to over thirty while I was there, a tribute to her skills as a leader. I’ll aways remember the way she dealt with one section that had been cooking the books. Upon discovering the deceit she gave them half an hour to pack up and leave. Then she explained that what was going on could have sunk the company. We felt how important it was for all of us to be honest. If circumstances left one of us unable to do sufficient paid work, then we would have to leave. Simple, straightforward stuff that motivated us all. Goodbye Mary, a truly amazing person.
