JohnBARBERIt is with the deepest sadness that we announce the sudden but peaceful passing of John Barber, with his family by his side, at Leicester Royal Infirmary on Monday 17th August 2026, aged 87 years.

John was a devoted dad to Martin and Sharon, and a loving father-in-law to Marian and John. He was a much-loved grandad to Michelle, Scott and Liam, grandad-in-law to Kelly, Louise and great-grandad to Monica, George and Avelinn.

John is now reunited with his beloved wife, Barbara, and his much-loved son, Neil.

His love, kindness and quiet strength touched us all, and the memories we shared with him will be treasured always. He will be missed more than words can say and will remain forever in our hearts.

A funeral service to celebrate and remember John's life will take place at South Leicester Crematorium on 9th September 2026 at 1:00pm.

Family flowers only, if desired donations for Motor Neurone Disease Association & Bowel Cancer UK.

Dad,
I am not sure that I can find the right words. It is still difficult to believe that you are gone.
I will truly miss our coffees in Wigston, our Sunday lunches together, and watching Songs of Praise while singing along to our favourite hymns. I will always treasure our final holiday together in Hunstanton: visiting the charity shops, playing on the two-pence machines, going for coffee, and then enjoying fish and chips.
With all my heart, I will never forget you. You will always remain in my thoughts and in my heart.
Dad, rest peacefully.
