Dear Janet,
I’m not sure whether you will remember me, 50 years ago, like, Howell I attended Coleg y Drindod. As you will know, in college we had wide groups of friends and I count Hywel as one of them, in fact in our third year, in the Tower,we shared floor 6, I was room 1, Alun Wayne Jones, 2, with Hywel 5 and Dewi Bala, 4, separated by John Llewellyn Davies. Although I was an east Walian, Hywel and my paths crossed frequently over the years. We bumped into one another at various events and of course through Jac y Do.
My career took me into youth service and adult education so I was delighted to book Jac y Do for a number of Glamorgan Summer School gigs. One year a student arrived and I immediately recognised her as Hywel’s sister
Sian, by her resemblance to him.
This message isn’t intended to give my biography but to try and express my sorrow and offer condolences to the whole family. You may or may not hear from them. It I know the following old college friends will be thinking of you, the family and Hywel. Greg Reynolds, Mike (Rufus) Griffiths and Eleanor his wife, Steve Czech, Gary Bufton, Stuart Haverson, Richard Meredith, Avril and Mike Dennis and many more.
