Alderman Margaret Richardson MbeCARTERKenton Margaret aged 88 years. Former Lord Mayor of Newcastle and former Head Teacher of Wharrier Street School, Walker. Died on Thursday 6th September 2018 in St Oswalds Hospice. Dearly loved wife of the late George, loved by all her family and friends. A private family Cremation will be followed by a Thanksgiving Service at Church of the Ascension, Creighton Avenue, NE3 4UN on Thursday 27th September at 2.45pm. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu can be made in aid of Muscular Dystrophy Research Unit, Freeman Hospital, Newcastle NE7 7DN and Cancer Research UK P.O.Box 156, Oxford OX4 9GZ. After the service all are welcome to The Duke of Wellington, Kenton NE3 3BQ. All enquiries c/o Mark Wait Funeral Service. Tel: 0191 2856635.

It was so lovely to have you at our wedding in June. It made my weekend to see how happy you were and how much fun you and Granny had having a good natter. You made quite the impression! We will miss you and we're sorry we can't be there for the memorial. Lots of love Rachel and Matt x x

From watching the world cup in 1966 when I was 9 to watching you enjoy yourself at Chillingham castle at the wedding you will always have a special place in our hearts. We will miss you Auntie Margaret. Rest in peace. Jill Ged and family
