Such a shock to hear the sad news. John and I met in Clevedon College. We became great buddies in and out of school. We both played for Civic Rangers under 18's and then into the senior league, where he was a prolific goal scorer, We also played table tennis together for St Michael's Church, Manselton. But the fondest memories I have are the hours we spent bunking off school, with his mother's permission, and playing Chinese Patience for hours, whilst listening to his Everly Brothers' collection.
We lost touch when he moved away but the memories of the great times we had together are embedded.
My condolences to John's family. John was a truly great friend to me and I will always remember those happy days we spent together.
