Professor RobertGRIEVEPassed away on October 4th 2024. He was surrounded by his loving family, his wife Catherine (Kate), sons Alex, Iain, Angus and daughter Alison.

Rob will always be remembered as someone who loved the joy of living and found the best in every moment. Always incredibly generous with his time, he cared deeply for his patients and was passionate about advancing medicine. He loved all sports and was an avid cricket fan and walker. He had completed the West Highland Way a week before his passing and described it as one of the best experiences of his life.

I worked for many years as a receptionist in the oncology department. Dr. Grieve was such a lovely man and it seemed only like yesterday when he walked into our department with a broad grin on his face. It was such a pleasure working for him and the way he treated his patients with such dignity and respect. Patients were so frightened when they attended for the first time and he had a lovely way of reassuring them even although their prognosis might not have been good. In all the years I worked for him there was never a cross word between us and I really feel for Kate and family for their sad loss. May you rest in peace Dr. Grieve. Jenny White

So sad to hear of the sad loss of a lovely man who helped us with the loss of our 21 year old son Michael whetstone. His care and treatment made Michael so strong and contented in those difficult times. Our thoughts are with all his family at this first Christmas and 15 years on we have never forgotten his kindness xx

Professor Grieve treated me when I had breast cancer. He was a lovely man, very easy person to talk to and you felt stronger for being his patient. He gave me hope. I know he did a lot of fund raising for the Myton Hospice to be built in Coventry and also carried out many trials which contributed to research. I owe my life to him and I know so many others do too. He will be greatly missed and I am very sad to hear of his passing.
