JohnLAVELLEof Rochdale Road, Bacup, died in Abby Croft Care Home, Crawshawbooth on Monday, March 11, aged 88 years.
Requiem Mass was held at St Mary’s RC Church, Bacup on Wednesday, March 27 followed by cremation at Burnley Crematorium, conducted by Father Chris McGrane.
John was born in Bacup where he lived all of his life. He worked as a miner at Hill Top Pit and was shift manager at Duralay in Haslingden and finally finishing his working life in sales. He was a parishioner at St Mary’s RC Church, Bacup.
He leaves his wife of 66 years, Doreen, daughter Eileen and her husband Robert, sons John and Liam, grandchildren Daniel, Keith, Chris, Georgie, Matt and Rhiannon, 10 great grandchildren, nephews, nieces and many friends.
