Steven was a frequent visitor to my father’s house, usually helping him either build or demolish something! He was a great friend to my dad, but always took the time to talk to me - young as I was back then - and he was never far away whenever our family needed something. My thoughts are with Steven’s family & friends.

I first met Steven in the Ukrainian Club, Morriston when I asked him if I could assist him in the building of a raft to compete in the Ynysforgan - Morriston and Mumbles raft races.Little did I realise that this would result in a series of ventures accompanied by much lager and laughter. He was the most able man I have ever met. He was a refrigeration engineer who was proficient at electrical, plumbing, plastering brickying, sheet metal work, carpentry and much more. He was an unassuming, unpretensious man who never refused a request to do a good turn. He was a great character and wonderful friend who never let me down. His friendship enriched my life and gave me many happy memories which will live with me forever.
Philip James.
