KathleenMERCER86, formerly of Baxenden passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early hours of Saturday, April 1 at Henley House Residential Care Home. Kathleen grew up as the youngest of four siblings in Adelaide Street in Accrington before moving to Baxenden with her beloved husband Thomas where they would go on to build their own bungalow on Whitecroft View and have three children, Beverley, Stephen and Sandra. Kathleen spent her working life as a machinist in various local mills before moving on to Hollins High School as a cleaner with her best friend, sister Margery. She loved to be in her garden, to go on days out fishing with Tom and in earlier days loved camping holidays with her children. She leaves behind her children, grandchildren, great and great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and brothers and sisters-in-law, a daughter-in-law and sons-in-law. She will be greatly missed by all. The funeral is to take place at Burnley Road Crematorium, Accrington at 10.20am on Thursday, April 20, followed by a celebration of her life at the Peel Park Hotel. Family flowers only on the day, but if anyone would like to give a donation to either Dementia UK or Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary this can be done via Hyndburn Funeral Services, this would be greatly appreciated by all the family.
