Michael was so friendly and cheerful, always the first with a smile, a handshake and a welcome that made every away match day in London feel like coming home. As a cornerstone of the London Geordie Mafia, he was equally committed to the friendships he struck up as he was to Newcastle United. Such a sad loss and he won’t be forgotten, I’m sure many will raise a pint in his honour at all future gatherings.
