Shirley MargaretPHILLIPSIt is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of our beloved Mum, Shirley Margaret Phillips, who died at Iddenshall Care Home on Monday, May 19th, at the age of 89 after a long illness - just three months after the passing of our father, Grenville.
Shirley was born in Hillingdon, London on August 13, 1935 and was the only daughter of Benjamin and Elizabeth Williams. Her love for her family was boundless and her nurturing spirit provided us with strength and comfort throughout our lives.
Shirley dedicated herself to her family, raising us with care and compassion. She instilled in us the values of love, kindness and perseverance. She was a devoted wife to the late Grenville, a proud mother to Sian and Gillian, a mother-in-law to lan and Ramzi, a doting grandma to Morgan, Scott, Rhiannon, Oliver, and Abigail and a great-grandma to Luca, Soraya, Sadie, and Effie.
Shirley worked as a school Librarian at Tarporley High School for many years, fuelled by her passion for reading. She found great joy in engaging in various craft activities, including flower arranging, decoupage, knitting, and creating greeting cards. Shirley was also actively involved in the life of Tarvin Village, serving as President of the Women's Institute, the Flower Club, the local church, and in amateur dramatics.
As we say goodbye, we take comfort in knowing that she has been reunited with her soulmate, Grenville and they are together once again.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, 9th June, 2025 at
Chester Crematorium, Blacon Avenue, Chester CH1 5BB at 1:20pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Shirley can be made to
Dementia UK and Alder Hey Children's Hospital.
