Uncle Peter, a fabulous godfather and the only person allowed to take the mick like you did!! A million memories of time spent with you growing up and as an adult when you came to visit. You were the first not related person to know about Islay and your response was that you knew right away when I didn’t want a coffee! Nothing was too much trouble for you and you were always there like a shot when we needed you, unless it was when I was shopping with Aunty Joan…. You used to go and sit in the car because you knew we’d be ages 😂. Like Simon said, the kettle was always on whenever we came to see you, I always knew you would do the lid slamming trick when you offered me a biscuit and I always fell for it! Smiling knowing you and Aunty Joan will be sat having a brew together now and treasuring the memories I have of happy times with you. Love always. Megs xxx

Uncle Peter, is the kettle working?

Not for you it’s not!

So many happy memories fixing the car, away in the caravan or emptying your fridge. When I joined the police you sent me a congratulations card with such lovely words about how I could work with anyone and just get on with them. I never forgot those words, they’ve stuck with me throughout my entire career.

You’re up there now with so many others looking over us. Mind, you’re higher up now so you’d better keep that hat on - you don’t want sunburn!

Rest in peace, thank you for everything.
